Statistics Finland is renewing its statistics on housing prices in 2013.
Statistics Finland will start publishing new statistics on the index of owner-occupied housing prices. The first data that describe the first quarter of 2013 will be published on 5 July 2013. In the future, the statistics will be published quarterly. The statistics on indices of owner-occupied housing prices describes the costs of purchasing and owning owner-occupied dwellings, as well as the development of purchase prices of dwellings.
The statistics on real estate prices will be supplemented in connection with the release on the first quarter of 2013 (release on 7 June 2013) with an index describing the price development of new detached houses. The name and other content of the statistics remain unchanged.
The statistics on prices of dwellings will be renamed as "prices of units in housing companies". The new name will enter into force in connection with the release of the data for January 2013 on 28 February 2013. The content of the statistics remains unchanged. The new name aims at better describing the content of the statistics.
