Statistics Finland compiles statistics concerning research and development every year. Data from the public sector and the non-profit organiaation sector are requested with an inquiry directed at all units estimated to have R&D activities. The data are used confidentially and only for statistical purposes. The obligation to provide data is based on the Statistics Act (280/2004).
