Students in upper secondary general schools

Description

The target of the collection of individual-based data on upper secondary general school students is the number of students attending upper secondary general education on 20 September. The following are regarded as upper secondary general education leading to a qualification:

- Education leading to the completion of the whole upper secondary general school syllabus (education leading to the matriculation examination)

- Education leading to the international matriculation examination (education leading to the International Baccalaureate or IB diploma)

- Education leading to the Reifeprüfung examination (only Helsingin Saksalainen koulu)

- Education leading to the Gymnasieexamen (only Ålands lyceum)

- Education leading to the European Baccalaureate or EB diploma (only Helsingin eurooppalainen koulu).

Target group

The data providers are all educational institutions which on 20 September have registered students in upper secondary general education leading to a qualification.

The data are collected via the Internet as file transfers. The application remains open from 10 September to 10 October. The application can only be accessed by data suppliers who have received a user ID from Statistics Finland.

Data protection

The obligation to provide data is based on the Statistics Act (280/2004). The Statistics Act obliges Statistics Finland to treat the provided data as confidential.
