The data collected on educational institutions and students in autumn are used to study what education is arranged by educational institutions and how many students attend different forms of education.
They are used to produce preliminary statistics on the numbers of students in autumn. The data are utilised in the updating of the register of educational institutions and as control data for various data collections, for example by comparing preliminary data to individual-based student data.The data are used by representatives of the educational administration in the planning and evaluation of education, as well as by organisers of education, and association, researchers and students in the field.The data from the data collection are used in the following statistics:
