<description>In the third quarter of 2011, the volume of goods transported by lorries in domestic road transport decreased by 22 per cent from the corresponding quarter of 2010. A total of 74 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorries during the July to September period of 2011. Twenty-six per cent less of soil materials and 19 per cent less of other materials were transported than in the July to September period of 2010.</description>

A total of 82 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorries during the April to June period of 2011. Twenty-two per cent more of soil materials but 8 per cent less of other materials were transported than in the April to June period of 2010.</description>

<description>In the first quarter of 2011, the volume of goods transported by lorries in domestic road transport decreased by 12 per cent from the corresponding quarter of 2010. A total of 66 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorries during the January to March period of 2011. The decrease is explained by the transports of soil materials, which halved from the January to March period of 2010. The volume of transports of goods other than soil materials increased by 10 per cent from January-March 2010. These data derive from the statistics on goods transport by road compiled by Statistics Finland. The method of the statistics on goods transport by road was revised as of the beginning of 2011. The data for 2010 have been recalculated using the new method. The data are not comparable with data published earlier.</description>

<description>A total of 397 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorries in domestic road transport in 2010. Compared with 2009, the volume of goods transported increased by 15 per cent. The total transport volume of lorries amounted to 25,961 million tonne-kilometres, which is seven per cent more than in 2009. Professional or licensed transport accounted for 72 per cent of the total volume of goods and for 91 per cent of the transport volume. These data derive from the statistics on goods transport by road compiled by Statistics Finland.</description>

A total of 120 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorries during the October to December period of 2010. The volume of transported soil materials was 56 million tonnes while that of other goods totalled 64 million tonnes. The total transport pervormance of lorries was 7,364 million tonne-kilometres.</description>

The total transport volume of lorries was 7,101 million tonne-kilometres.</description>
