According to revised data, working-day adjusted output grew in February by 3.3 per cent (previously 3.5 per cent) from February 2011.</description>

In total trade, sales increased by 10.8 per cent in March.</description>

<description>In 2011, the value of sales charged on domestic credit cards amounted to EUR 8.3 billion in Finland. The sales increased by 5 per cent from the previous year. Retail shops accounted for the largest share and service stations for the second largest share of the card sales. Cash withdrawals and bank transfers made on domestic credit cards in Finland fell by good 4 per cent to EUR 1.3 billion. This is indicated by Statistics Finlands statistics on credit cards.</description>

Current expenditure on the regular education system totalled EUR 11.5 billion in 2010. Expenditure on comprehensive school education constitutes the biggest proportion of the current expenditure on the regular education system. Expenditure on comprehensive school education was EUR 4.1 billion in 2010. The next biggest proportions were university education and research, on which EUR 2.2 billion was expended, and vocational education on which EUR 1.6 billion was spent.</description>

<description>According to Statistics Finland, Finnish citizenship was granted in 2011 to 4,550 foreign citizens permanently resident in Finland. The number is 200 higher than in 2010. Ninety-three per cent of those having been granted Finnish citizenship retained their former citizenship. Of the persons receiving Finnish citizenship, 2,650 were women and 1,900 men. Among the persons having been granted Finnish citizenship, 1,000 were aged 14 or under and 100 were aged 65 or over.</description>

<description>In April 2012 a total of 12,511 new motor vehicles were registered, of which 4,602 were automobiles. First registrations decreased by 44.6 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year. In April the number of new passenger cars registered was 4,052, which was 64.5 per cent down from the year before. The decrease of new registered cars was due to automobile taxes which changed 1.4.2012. The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 40.9 per cent. These data are based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency and they have been produced by Statistics Finland. The numbers are exclusive of the vehicles on the Åland Islands.</description>

The rents of non-subsidised rental dwellings went up by an average of 3.2 per cent in the whole country. In the Greater Helsinki Area the rents of non-subsidised rental dwellings went up by 2.3 per cent and in the rest of Finland by 3.7 per cent. The rents of government subsidised dwellings rose by 3.4 per cent in the whole country. Compared to the previous quarter, the rents of non-subsidised dwellings increased by an average of 0.9 per cent and the rents of government subsidised dwellings by 1.5 per cent.</description>

<title>Decline in households net financial assets came to an end in the last quarter of 2011</title>

<description>Households net financial assets recovered slightly in the last quarter of 2011. The decline that had gathered increasing strength during the first three quarters of 2011 turned into 2.3 per cent growth towards the end of the year. The situation was eased by the recovery of share prices that started in late 2011 at the same time as households deposits continued to grow. Households debts, in turn, were hiked up by steadily escalating borrowing. Households financial assets were 1.7-fold compared to their debts at the end of 2011. Their net financial assets amounted to EUR 89.9 billion. These data derive from Statistics Finlands financial accounts statistics.</description>

During 2011, net immigration totalled 16,800 persons, which is 3,100 up on the year before. Net immigration by foreign citizens increased clearly, or by 2,000 persons.</description>

Inclusive of other retail and wholesale trade, as well as turnover from other activities, the total turnover in the motor vehicle trade amounted to nearly EUR 15.3 billion. The share of retail trade of motor vehicle parts and accessories was 7.9 per cent while the share of their wholesale trade was 10.9 per cent. Maintenance and repair services generated eight per cent of the turnover of motor vehicle trade products.</description>

The unemployment rate in the first quarter (January to March) was 8 per cent, which was 0.6 percentage points lower than in the respective quarter of 2011.</description>
