The Personal Data Act requires that register descriptions are produced and made publicly available for all registers of persons. The Act also defines the right of inspection of personal data, which does not, however, apply to registers used for the sole purpose of statistics compilation. Thus, the scope of the right of inspection does not extend to Statistics Finland's statistical registers containing personal data.
