Statistics Finland, open data and interfaces

Statistics Finland is building ready-made interfaces for the users of open data. The construction of the interfaces has been started from the StatFin database and will be widened to other sets of data.

The general Terms of Use must be observed when using the data.

Utilising open data

Statistics Finland's Github environment can be utilised to download table files for personal use and in software development and statistical calculations: https://github.com/statfi/opendata.

Github contains open source data libraries for transferring tables from Statistics Finland's databases and for computerised reading and processing of tables. You can generate statistical calculations and graphics through the processing library and process the data further into Excel, CSV, SQL and R formats.

Statistics Finland organising partner in Apps4Finland competition

The Apps4Finland 2013 competition seeks best innovations that make use of Finnish open data. Statistics Finland participates in the competition as a partner for the second time.
