Annual change in turnover in trade industries, % (TOL 2008)
In retail trade, the sales volume increased by 0.6 per cent in February and in motor vehicle trade by 0.4 per cent from February 2014. In turn, the sales volume in wholesale decreased by 2.8 per cent from the previous year. The volume of total sales was 1.2 per cent lower in February than in the year before. The heavier decline in turnover compared to sales volume in wholesale trade and thus also in total trade was affected, for example, by lower prices of oil products. The volume index of sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the value index series.

In total trade, sales fell by 5.6 per cent in January to February year-on-year

In the January to February period, sales contracted by 1.6 per cent in retail trade and by 7.9 per cent in wholesale trade from January to February 2014. Sales in motor vehicle trade, in turn, decreased by 5.3 per cent from the corresponding period in 2014. Total trade sales went down by 5.6 per cent over the corresponding period.
