Turnover of construction enterprises grew by good 7 per cent in the third quarter

According to Statistics Finland, turnover of construction enterprises grew by 7.4 per cent and sales volume by 6.8 per cent in July to September 2015. In the corresponding period in 2014, the turnover remained almost on level with the previous year.

Turnover continued to grow in all construction industries. The growth was strongest in building construction, where 11.0 per cent more turnover was accumulated than one year earlier in the corresponding period. The turnover of specialised construction activities increased by 5.5 per cent and that of civil engineering by 3.9 per cent.

The sales volume of construction enterprises grew most in building construction, by 10.2 per cent. In civil engineering, the sales volume grew by 6.5 per cent and in specialised construction by 4.8 per cent.

The volume index of enterprises’ sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series.
