Forestry land (incl. protected areas) in 2009–2013 totalled 26.2 mil. ha, of which 53% was owned privately, 35% by the state 7% by companies and 5% by others. 

The volume of growing stock was 2 356 mil. m3, of which 50% was pine, 30% spruce and 20% broadleaved.
