Statistics Finland is responsible for implementing the statistical service in the manner, and according to the terms, defined in the signed agreement. Unless stated otherwise in the agreement, the statistical service is subject to the following general terms of use.
The fees for the services provided by Statistics Finland are based on the decree of the Ministry of Finance concerning the charges payable for the services of Statistics Finland (963/2003). Payment is due 14 days from the date the invoice was delivered to the customer. An invoice sent by post is regarded as delivered after seven days from the date it was handed over to the postal service. Overdue payments are subject to a penalty interest as defined in the Interest Act. Should the penalty interest amount to less than EUR 5, a surcharge of EUR 5 is payable instead. The chargeable services of Statistics Finland are governed by the provisions of the Act on Value Added Tax.
Should some change occur in a tax or some other public charge related to the service, Statistics Finland reserves the right to change prices accordingly.
All the rights to the statistical service, copyrights included, belong to Statistics Finland.
Statistics Finland grants a customer the right to use the statistical service for the duration of the agreement.
The customer has no right to professional release or resale of the online service or its parts, nor to make essential use of the service in such activities or deliver the online service or its parts in electronic form outside its own community. When referring to the data obtained from the service, the customer must acknowledge Statistics Finland, Statistical yearbook of Finland as the source.
The customer is responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of the equipment, software and data communication links required by the statistical service and for other costs resulting from the use of the service.
Statistics Finland maintains the statistical service and produces the contents of the service. Statistics Finland is responsible for ensuring that the data of the Statistical Yearbook of Finland online service are in line with the original data sources.
Statistics Finland has the right to temporarily suspend the statistical service if it is necessary for the service or the implementation of a technical amendment or update.
Statistics Finland accepts no liability for any damage caused by errors or interruptions in the information systems or data communication of third parties, technical faults or harmful software. Statistics Finland accepts no liability for delays in the production of the Statistical Yearbook of Finland when such delays result from delayed delivery of statistical data from third parties. Statistics Finland accepts no liability for errors or delays due to a force majeure, nor for indirect damage. The liability of Statistics Finland covers, at most, the agreed price of using the service.
If either party to the agreement has violated the agreement and has not redressed the violation within 30 days of the other party's written notice, the other party has the right to cancel the agreement. The cancellation shall be made in writing.
Where the violation of the agreement is such that it affects the agreement as a whole, the other party has the right to cancel the agreement immediately. In the event the agreement is cancelled, Statistics Finland is entitled to receive full compensation for any services it has performed under the agreement.
The permission to use the service is valid for the time specified in the agreement.
Unless settled out of court, any disputes arising from this agreement shall be settled by the Helsinki District Court.
After the subscription has been made, the customer will receive delivery of the user ID, password and Internet address needed for using the Statistical Yearbook of Finland online service.
The currently applicable 23% value added tax will be added to the price of the service.
Statistics Finland reserves the right to price changes.
Standing subscribers will receive one free copy of the printed Statistical Yearbook of Finland annually. If the subscription to the online service is made at a time when the printed edition of the Statistical Yearbook of Finland has been sold out, the delivery of the printed copy will not be included in the online service delivery.
Excel and PDF files are used in the HTML framework of the online service of the Statistical Yearbook of Finland. A text search function has been implemented with JavaScript.
The product operates in Windows 95/98/98SE/98ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista, Mac and Linux operating systems with Microsoft Office 97+ or Open Office 1.0+. Adobe Acrobat or other corresponding software is needed for reading PDF documents.
The product functions on all Intranet and Internet servers. In some non-standard systems it may be necessary to define the MIME type for Excel and PDF files.
Tested browser software: Explorer 5+, Netscape 4.71+, Mozilla 1.0+, Phoenix 0.4+ and Opera 6+.
