Output in manufacturing decreased by 0.6 per cent in the year to February as calculated per working day. In agriculture and forestry output fell by 0.1 per cent, which is explained mainly by the decrease in fellings. Output in the construction industry also fell, by 2.5 per cent, whereas in the wholesale and retail trade output grew by a good 4 per cent according to preliminary data. In transport and communications output increased by close on 4.5 per cent. There was a rise of 2 per cent in output in other services and government services as well.
