Gross domestic product decreased by 0.3 per cent in July to September

According to Statistics Finland, the volume of Finland's gross domestic product decreased in July to September 2022 by 0.3 per cent from the previous quarter. Compared to the third quarter of 2021, GDP adjusted for working days grew by 1.0 per cent.

Key selections

  • In July to September 2022, the volume of exports increased by 1.9 per cent from the previous quarter. The volume of imports decreased by 0.8 per cent. The rise in prices increased the current priced value of international trade clearly compared to one year ago.
  • In July to September 2022, private consumption decreased by 0.3 per cent from the April to June level. Government consumption expenditure increased 0.1 per cent.
  • Gross fixed capital formation, or investments, grew by 2.0 per cent in the third quarter of 2022 from the previous quarter. Both private and public investments increased.
