Overnight stays by resident tourists nearly doubled in April 2022

In total, 1.38 million overnight stays were recorded for resident tourists and around 0.22 million overnight stays for non-resident tourists in April 2022. The number of nights spent by resident tourists was 90 per cent higher than in April 2021. The number of overnight stays by non-resident tourists was four times higher than in the previous year. The total number of overnight stays in April 2022 was on the same level as in April 2019 before the coronavirus pandemic. These figures are preliminary data from Statistics Finland's accommodation statistics.

  • The average price of a hotel room was EUR 107, having been EUR 90 one year earlier. The average price of a hotel room was highest in Lapland, EUR 129.
