Prices of agricultural production inputs rose sharply in the first quarter of 2022

According to Statistics Finland, the purchase prices of the means of agricultural production rose by 24 per cent in the first quarter of 2022. Agricultural production commodities and services cost 30 per cent more and investments eight per cent more than one year ago. Input prices rose in every respect as raw material, energy and transport costs went up. Prices of fertilisers were double, energy good one third and fodder nearly one third higher compared to one year ago.
