Cubic volume of granted building permits decreased further in September to November 2022 from one year agorelease | Building and dwelling production 2022, November
According to Statistics Finland, building permits for newbuilding were granted for a total of 7.1 million cubic metres in September to November 2022, which was 35 per cent less than one year ago. Twenty-two per cent fewer building permits for residential building projects were granted than one year ago. In September to November, 21 per cent fewer building projects were started than one year earlier.
- The cubic volume of building permits granted for newbuilding decreased in September to November 2022 by 35 per cent year-on-year.
- In September to November 2022, building permits were granted for a total of 8,553 dwellings, which was nearly 18 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
- The cubic volume of building permits granted for other than residential buildings decreased by 40 per cent in September to November 2022 from one year ago.
- Altogether 21 per cent fewer building projects were started In September to November 2022 than one year earlier.
Decline in the volume of construction accelerated
In September to November, the constant-price value or the volume of ongoing building production decreased by six per cent year-on-year. The volume of residential building construction decreased by four per cent and that of other than residential building construction fell by eight per cent from one year earlier.
