According to Statistics Finland, the value of new orders in manufacturing was 0.5 per cent higher in January 2023 than 12 months earlier. Examined by industry, the value of new orders grew year-on-year in the paper and chemical industries.

In January 2023, orders grew most in the manufacture of paper and paper board products, where the value of new orders was 17.9 per cent higher than one year ago. Orders grew by 4.0 per cent in the chemical industry. Orders decreased by 4.8 per cent in the metal industry from one year ago.
