Transport in domestic waterborne traffic increased by 2 per cent in April 2023

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the goods volume in domestic waterborne traffic totalled 0,4 million tonnes in April 2023. Transport in domestic waterborne traffic increased by 2 per cent compared to April 2022. In April 2023 domestic water transport took place almost only in coastal waterways.

Oil products and timber were transported most in domestic waterborne traffic in April

Oil products were transported most, in total 199,579 tonnes, which was 53 per cent of all transport. The second most transported was timber, 95,665 tonnes, which was 26 per cent of all transport.
