Once you have registered at the Conference Venue you will receive an information pack where you can find all the details related to the practical arrangements.
You will also receive your conference bag and badge at the registration desk. Please make sure that you wear your badge throughout the conference, you will need it to gain entry to the conference rooms, the dinners, the receptions and the excursion.

The information and office desk is located in the lobby of the CARELIA building and it will remain open for the duration of the conference.
The conference assistants at the information desk and in the meeting rooms will wear white-blue striped shirts. If you require any assistance please ask one the conference assistants or go to the information desk.
Copies of the presentations
There are no papers printed by the host organiser for distributing. Please note that you should print the papers you are interested in from the IARIW website before you leave home, and bring them with you.

Chargeable printing service is available if you need copies from your papers. Please contact the information desk.
The host organiser provides a computer lab that is located in the AURORA building (room AU205). It is open on 21 - 22 August and 24 - 25 August daily at 8:30 - 17:00. It is closed on Wednesday, 23 August because of the whole day excursion.
There are 16 computers available in the computer lab. They run Windows XP with MS Office and have Internet access. HD floppy disks, CD-RW disks and USB memory sticks can also be used. The participants can also work on their presentations and print them there, if needed.
In addition, two computers are available for participants for checking e-mail messages at the information desk area in the main entrance of the conference venue.
Lunch, dinner and morning/afternoon coffee will be available for all delegates and accompanying persons.
Breakfast is included in the room rate at every hotel.
Lunch will be available at the University on 21 - 25 August excluding Wednesday, which is the day for the excursion to Koli.
All lunches will be served at 12:30 - 14.00 in the restaurants of the CARELIA building and the AURORA building at the University.
All morning and afternoon coffees will be served daily, excluding Wednesday, in the lounge of the CARELIA building as follows
Dinner will be served for all participants and accompanying persons on 21 - 24 August at 19:00 - 20:00 in the restaurant of the Hotel Kimmel.

There is daily transportation in the mornings from the Hotel Kimmel to the University on 21 - 25 August excluding Wednesday. The exact timetable is found in the information pack to be distributed in the conference bag.
Medical care in Finland is of a high standard. Please contact the staff at the information desk if you need the services of health and dental clinics. A first-aid group is on duty during the excursion to the Koli National Park.
In Finland tap water is safe to drink.
Banks: The usual banking hours are 10.00 - 16.30 from Monday to Friday
The currency in Finland is euro. Credit cards are widely accepted in Finland.
There are many cash machines (OTTO in Finnish) where you can draw out money with your credit card.
Smoking is not allowed indoors in public places, e.g. congress buildings, banks, department stores, public transport, etc. There are detached areas in restaurants where smoking is allowed. Delegates who wish to smoke will need to do so outside the University buildings.
Tipping is not customary in Finland. Service charges are included in prices.
