Number of passengers at Finnish airports still far from the pre-pandemic level in September 2021

Altogether 578,900 passengers flew through Finnish airports in September 2021, which was 165 per cent more than one year ago, but still 74 per cent fewer than in September 2019. The exceptionally high relative growth in the number of passengers compared to the year before is caused by the collapse of air traffic due to the COVID-19 pandemic since spring 2020. There were 480,023 passengers at Helsinki Airport and a total of 98,877 passengers at other domestic airports. Helsinki Airport accounted for 83 per cent of all passengers at domestic airports.
