Output of the national economy fell in August

Seasonally adjusted output fell by 0.5 per cent from the month before. Adjusted for working days, output fell by 8.4 per cent from August 2008. The data derive from Statistics Finland's Trend Indicator of Output. The data are preliminary and will become revised later.

According to revised data, output adjusted for working days fell in July by 8.9 per cent (previously -9.2%) and the original series fell by 8.9 per cent (previously -9.2%) from July 2008. The revision was mainly due to an upward revision of the source data on secondary production.
