Financial leasing acquisitions EUR 2.2 billion in 2014

Financial leasing acquisitions stood at EUR 2.2 billion in 2014. Compared with the previous year, acquisitions increased by 12 per cent. Financial leasing payments in turn amounted to EUR 1.2 billion, or the same as in 2013. Financial leasing companies' sales of leasing objects stood at EUR 632 million. These data derive from Statistics Finland’s Financial leasing statistics.

Leasing acquisitions

Englannin tekstiThe largest financial leasing objects were vehicles, representing 29 per cent; IT and other office equipment, representing 28 per cent; and machines and industrial equipment, representing 20 per cent of the leasing acquisitions in 2014.

Leasing payments

Englannin tekstiMeasured by leasing payments, the most significant financial leasing users by industry were trade, transport and storage, manufacturing, and public administration and defence. In total, these four industries generated EUR 698 million in leasing payments, representing 57 per cent of all leasing payments. The clearly largest user of financial leasing by sector was non-financial corporations and housing corporations that paid 84 per cent of all leasing payments, or EUR 1.0 billion.

During 2014, there were 19 companies actively involved in financial leasing in Finland, of which eight were credit institutions and 11 other companies. The biggest financial leasing companies were credit institutions that received 81 per cent of all leasing payments.
