Turnover of construction enterprises grew by nearly 8 per cent in the last quarter of 2015

According to Statistics Finland, the turnover of construction enterprises grew by 7.8 per cent and sales volume by 6.4 per cent in October to December 2015. In the corresponding period one year earlier, turnover grew by 2.4 per cent. During 2015, turnover grew by 6.7 per cent from the year before.

Turnover continued to grow in all construction industries. The growth was strongest in building construction, where 9.8 per cent more turnover was accumulated than in the October to December period one year ago. The turnover of civil engineering grew by 7.6 per cent and that of specialised construction activities by 5.9 per cent.

In October to December, the sales volume of construction enterprises increased by 10.3 per cent in the industry of civil engineering. Building construction grew by 8.1 per cent and specialised construction by 4.2 per cent.

The volume index of enterprises’ sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series.
