Turnover of construction enterprises continued growing also in December to February

According to Statistics Finland, the turnover of construction enterprises grew by 8.7 per cent and sales volume by 6.9 per cent in December to February. In the corresponding period one year earlier turnover grew by 3.3 per cent.

Turnover continued to grow in all construction industries. The growth was strongest in building construction, where 10.0 per cent more turnover was accumulated than in the December to February period one year ago. The turnover of specialised construction activities increased by 8.4 per cent and that of civil engineering by 5.8 per cent.

In December to February, the sales volume of construction enterprises increased by 7.9 per cent in the industry of civil engineering. Building construction grew by 7.7 per cent and specialised construction by 6.1 per cent.

The volume index of enterprises’ sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series.
