According to Statistics Finland, the number of domestic leisure trips in 2022 fell to the pre-pandemic level of 2019. Part of the domestic trips made in 2021 were replaced by trips abroad in 2022, the number of which tripled from the previous year. In 2022, Finnish residents made 29.7 million leisure trips with overnight stay in Finland and abroad, roughly the same number as in 2021.
