Turnover in industry decreased by 11.7 per cent in October 2023

Turnover decreased in several main industries in October

In October, turnover declined most strongly in the forest industry, by 27.4 per cent, and in the electrical and electronics industry, by 17.4 per cent from one year back. In the metal industry, turnover was 6.3 per cent lower than one year previously. Turnover grew in mining and quarrying, by 4.1 per cent, and in the food industry, by 1.3 per cent.

Export turnover decreased in October in nearly all main industries

Export turnover declined in nearly all main industries in October. Export turnover decreased most in the forest industry, by 31.7 per cent, and in the electronic and electrical industry, by 19.1 per cent from one year earlier. Export turnover in the metal industry decreased by 7.5 per cent. Export turnover grew in October only in mining and quarrying, by 28.4 per cent from one year ago.

Domestic turnover decreased in nearly all main industries in October. Domestic turnover decreased most in the forest industry and was 19.2 per cent lower than one year earlier. Domestic turnover in the metal industry went down by 3.6 per cent year-on-year. Domestic turnover grew only in the food industry and was by 3.7 per cent higher than in the previous year.

Turnover grew in October from the month before

Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry increased by 0.8 per cent in October 2023 compared to September. In September, turnover went up by 0.7 per cent and it was 1.3 per cent lower in August than in the previous month.
