Revision release
For the statistical reference years 2000 to 2021, there was an exceptional revision in the statistics on general government debt by quarter, general government financial accounts and national accounts in the releases of 28 June 2022. The reason is the methodological change made to the treatment of government ARA loans, which raised the level of long-term loans in central and local government considerably for the entire time series on both liability and asset sides. Read more about the revision and its impact in our release.
Households’ financial assets declined by EUR 11.1 billion during the first quarter of 2022 falling to EUR 373.2 billion. In turn, households’ debts contracted by EUR 1.9 billion during the first quarter of 2022 decreasing to EUR 199.4 billion. As a result of these changes, households' net financial assets decreased by EUR 9.1 billion to EUR 173.8 billion. Net financial assets refer to the difference between financial assets and liabilities. These data derive from Statistics Finland’s financial accounts statistics.
Key points
