The central government's environmental protection expenditure contains the administrative costs of environmental protection, expenditure on environmental protection and nature conservation, and environmental protection expenditure arising from the use of certain geographic areas. Most of the local government's environmental protection expenditure arises from wastewater treatment, waste management and air pollution control activities.
