Statistics Finland has made appointments for the Directors of the Social Statistics and Population Statistics Departments, the Director of Information Services and the Director of IT and Statistical Methods.
Ms Riitta Harala (Master of Economics) has been appointed Director of the Social Statistics Department for the five-year term starting on 1 March 2012. Mr Jari Tarkoma (Master of Arts and Master of Laws) has been appointed Director of the Population Statistics Department for the five-year term starting on 1 April 2012. Ms Harala and Mr Tarkoma have held these positions for the previous five-year term as well.
Ms Heli Mikkelä (Master of Science, Agriculture and Forestry, and Master of Social Sciences) has been appointed Director of Information Services for the five-year term starting on 1 April 2012. Ms Mikkelä has held this position for the previous five-year term as well.
Mr Sven-Folke Björkqvist (Master of Business Administration, Polytechnic) has been appointed Director of IT and Statistical Methods for the five-year term starting on 1 April 2012. Mr Björkqvist has previously held the position of Director of IT Management at Statistics Finland.
