Marjo Bruun the new Director General of Statistics Finland

The Finnish Council of State appointed Marjo Bruun (55), Master of Science (Agriculture), as the new Director General of Statistics Finland today, 8 March 2012 for a seven-year term. The appointment will take effect on 1 May 2012.

Ms Bruun has been employed as Director General of the Information Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (TIKE) since 2007. She has previously headed TIKE's statistics group and statistics group production unit and worked as an expert and consultant in the private sector. Marjo Bruun has acquired her leadership skills and experience in a top management post at a government agency.
