Appointments at Statistics Finland
Statistics Finland has made the following
appointments for a Director of IT-management and the Directors of
the Population Statistics, Social Statistics, Prices and Wages
Statistics and Economic Statistics Departments:
- Mr Sven-Folke Björkqvist, Bachelor of Business
Administration, has been appointed Director of IT-management for a
five-year term starting 1 April 2007. Mr Björkqvist has held the
position also for the previous five-year term.
- Ms Riitta Harala, Master of Economics, has
been appointed Director of the Social Statistics Department for a
five-year term starting 1 March 2007. Prior to this appointment Ms
Harala has held the position of Director of the Population
Statistics Department at Statistics Finland.
- Mr Jari Tarkoma, Master of Arts, Master of
Laws, has been appointed Director of the Population Statistics
Department for a five-year term starting 1 April 2007. Prior to
this appointment Mr Tarkoma has held the position of Head of
Statistics at Statistics Finland.
- Mr Kari Molnar, Bachelor of Social Sciences,
has been appointed Director of the Prices and Wages Statistics
Department for a five-year term starting 1 April 2007. Mr Molnar
has held the position also for the previous five-year term.
- Mr Ari Tyrkkö, Bachelor of Social Sciences,
has been appointed Director of the Economic Statistics Department
for a five-year term starting 1 April 2007. Mr Tyrkkö has held the
position also for the previous five-year term.
Earlier this year appointments for similar five-year terms were
made for a Director of the IT and Statistical Methods Department, a
Director of Information Services, a Director of International
Affairs and a Director of Management Services.
