Description
The agricultural enterprise and income statistics describe farm incomes subject to taxation, and expenditure, assets and debts of farms, as well as changes in the fixed assets of farms. The main sources of data for the statistics are individual tax forms and a statistical survey of farm enterprises. The statistics describe separately agriculture and forestry. The data are classified by variables like area, production sector and farm size category. The verified development is also described as a time series spanning ten years.
Data content
The agricultural enterprise and income statistics contain data on the profits, income, expenditure, interest, assets and liabilities, and changes in fixed assets of farms engaged in agriculture. Included also a review of forest taxation. The basic data may not be disclosed.
Classifications used
The data are classified by area, production sector, farm size category, owner and age group, and form of subsidy.
Data collection methods and data sources
The data for the agricultural enterprise and income statistics are based on a sample. Tax returns of farms are the main data source. The information on the physical characteristics of farms derive from the Farm Register of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

The data are available approximately 15 months from the end of the statistical reference year.
