Retail and wholesale trade of motor vehicles almost equally large in motor vehicle trade

According to Statistics Finland, retail trade of motor vehicles generated 37.1 per cent and wholesale trade of motor vehicles 36.1 per cent of the almost EUR 14.5 billion turnover from products in the motor vehicle trade in 2010. Inclusive of other retail and wholesale trade, as well as turnover from other activities, the total turnover in the motor vehicle trade amounted to nearly EUR 15.3 billion. The share of retail trade of motor vehicle parts and accessories was 7.9 per cent while the share of their wholesale trade was 10.9 per cent. Maintenance and repair services generated eight per cent of the turnover of motor vehicle trade products.
