Sales of retail trade grew by 8.2 per cent in May

According to Statistics Finland, retail trade sales rose by 8.2 per cent in May from May 2010. Sales volume also grew by 5.3 per cent during the same time period. Wholesale trade sales went up by 13.2 per cent and motor vehicle sales by 14.5 per cent. In total trade sales increased by 11.9 per cent in May.

Sales in retail trade rose by 6.0 per cent and in wholesale trade by 10.7 per cent in January to May compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. Motor vehicle sales rose by 26.2 per cent. In total trade sales were up in January to May by 11.2 per cent on the respective period of the year before.
