Base year of the wage and salary indices changes
Starting from data concerning January 2013, the base year 2010=100 will be introduced in wage and salary indices. Data will be released for the first time with the new base year on 13 March 2013.
The indices are re-calculated from the beginning of 2010 in connection with the change of the base year. In this context, the data may have become revised and there the latest changes in the classification data are taken into consideration. The effects are of qualitative nature and are visible as revisions to data in some of the published industries. However, the changes are not significant and have no effect on the interpretation of the time series or the image of economic trends. In the following, database tables published with the old base year (2005=100) will no longer be updated.
Classification of Sectors changes for wage and salary indices. From data for January 2013, the Classification of Sectors 2012 will be introduced in wage and salary indices.
In connection with the base year change, the following alterations will be made to the published industries:
- Publication of data on the industry Retail sale of beverages in specialised stores (TOL 4725) will be discontinued.
- Publication of data on the industries Retail sale of computers,
peripheral units and software in specialised stores (TOL 4741),
Retail sale of telecommunications equipment in specialised stores
(TOL 4742), and Retail sale of electrical household appliances in
specialised stores (TOL 47430, 4754) will be discontinued.
They have been combined into a new industry group to be published, Retail sale of home technology in specialised stores (TOL 474, 4754, 47782), to which was also moved Retail sale of photographic equipment; photography services (TOL 47782), which previously belonged to Other retail sale. - In the following, Other retail sale includes the industries: 47595, 47630, 47650, 47764, 47781, 47784-5, 47789, 4779, 478, 47990.
