Producer price indices in July 2005

According to Statistics Finland, producer price indices rose by 1.7 to 7.0 per cent in the year to July. The biggest increase was recorded in import prices, which was particularly attributable to higher prices of crude oil, oil products, and iron, copper and metal products. The rise of import prices was curbed by lower prices of electrical products.

From June to July producer price indices increased by 0.2 to 0.7 per cent. Import price index rose most, by 0.7 per cent. The rise of import prices was especially due to higher prices of crude oil.
