Producer prices for manufactured products rose by 1.7 per cent in October
According to Statistics Finland, producer prices for manufactured products rose by an average of 1.7 per cent from October 2011 to October 2012. Producer prices for manufactured products sold on the domestic market rose by 2.6 per cent, while the producer prices of export products went up by 0.8 per cent.

The Export Price Index rose by 0.9 per cent and the Import Price Index by 2.7 per cent in the year. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went up by 3.2 per cent and the year-on-year change in the Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply, Including Taxes was 3.3 per cent.
The rise in the producer prices for manufactured products was particularly caused by higher prices of oil products and food, and by the risen cost of district heat from October of the previous year. The increase was curbed above all by lower costs of the manufacturing of basic metals and pulp.
From September to October, producer prices for manufactured products went down by 0.5 per cent. The fall was mainly due to decreased prices of oil products from the previous month.
