The productivity of central government agencies and institutions deteriorated from the previous year in 2007. The labour productivity improved by 0.3 per cent and total productivity fell by 1.9 per cent from 2006. The added up volume of output of central government agencies and institutions fell by 0.3 per cent. Labour input diminished by 0.6 per cent but total input increased by 1.6 per cent. These data derive from the Statistics on central government productivity compiled by Statistics Finland.
As in the preceding two years, the labour productivity improved again in 2007 although the state administration’s added up volume of output diminished by 0.3 per cent. Because labour input diminished by more than output, labour productivity went up by 0.3 per cent. The most visible change in 2007 was clear growth of total input. The measured growth of 1.6 per cent was distinctly stronger than in the past few years; growth of respective size was last observable in total input in 2003.
