During the year new central government guarantees were granted to the amount of EUR 6.7 billion, of which EUR 1.4 billion were granted in the last quarter. At the end of 2009 the stock of guarantees was 27 per cent higher than one year previously and 1 per cent higher than at the end of the previous quarter.
