Brisk growth in total output continued in June

Total output was up by 6.6 per cent in the year to June. In May output grew by 5 per cent on the preceding year. After adjustment for seasonal variation, output in June was 0.5 per cent higher than in May. The data are based on Statistics Finland's Monthly Indicator of Total Output.

In agriculture and forestry output grew by 11.5 per cent in the year to June thanks to commercial fellings. Output in manufacturing as calculated per working day increased by 6.5 per cent. Brisk growth in the construction industry continued with output up by 15 per cent. In trade and commerce output rose by 7.7 per cent and in transport and communications by over 10 per cent. In other services and government services output grew by 2.5 per cent.

The monthly indicator of total output is based on eleven monthly series on different sectors of the economy, which are weighted and summed up.
