Overnight stays by tourists increased by 22 per cent in 2021

In total, 15.4 million overnight stays were recorded for resident tourists and 2.1 million overnight stays for non-resident tourists 2021. The number of nights spent by resident tourists increased by 28 per cent and that of nights spent by non-resident tourists decreased by nine per cent from the previous year. The total number of overnight stays was nearly one quarter lower than in 2019 prior to the pandemic. These figures are final data for Statistics Finland's accommodation statistics.
