Rise in producer prices of agricultural products slowed down in the last quarter of 2022

According to Statistics Finland, the producer prices of agricultural products rose by 26 per cent in the last quarter of 2022 compared to the year before. The prices of vegetable products went up in a year by 22 per cent and those of meat and animal products by 29 per cent. However, the rise in producer prices slowed down clearly from the rate of spring and summer 2022.

  • In the last quarter of 2022, the producer price for cereals went up by 29 per cent from twelve months back. However, the price has already fallen for two successive quarters, first by 11 per cent and then by 3.5 per cent.
  • The producer price of meat grew by 32 per cent in the last quarter of 2022 from one year ago. Compared to the previous quarter, prices went up by 1.9 per cent.
  • The producer price of milk rose by 42 per cent in the last quarter of 2022 from one year ago. The rise from the previous quarter amounted to 4.4 per cent.
