R&D funding grows in the 2024 budget

In the state budget for 2024, the total appropriations for research and development activities amount to EUR 2,511.3 million. According to Statistics Finland, appropriations for research and development in the state budget grow by EUR 156.5 million, or 6.6 per cent, relative to the budget for 2023. The share of government R&D funding of gross domestic product is estimated to be around 0.87 per cent.
