Errors corrected in data describing loneliness and feeling happy

The relative proportions reported in the release for those having felt lonely all the time or most of the time were incorrect. The relative proportions portrayed those having felt lonely all the time, most of the time or sometimes.

In statistical databases 11z9, 11zc, 11wp and in the release, the incorrect category "All or most of the time" was corrected to "All or most of the time or sometimes". Similarly, the category "Some, a little or none of the time" was corrected to "A little or none of the time".

For example, 29.7 per cent of people aged 16 or over mentioned in the heading of the release felt themselves lonely all the time, most of the time or sometimes in 2022. In 2022, altogether 6.7 per cent of people aged 16 or over felt lonely all the time or most of the time.

A similar error was also found in the relative proportions describing happiness. The published relative proportions portrayed those having felt lonely all the time, most of the time or sometimes.

For example, 93.6 per cent of persons aged 16 or over felt happy all the time, most of the time or sometimes in 2022. In all, 73.8 per cent of persons felt happy all the time or most of the time in 2022.
