Read more about the changeAccording to Statistics Finland, the median earnings for regular working hours of full-time wage and salary earners working in the central government sector were EUR 4,112 per month in 2023. The average of earnings for regular working hours was EUR 4,386. Men’s median earnings for regular hours worked were EUR 4,356 and those of women EUR 3,801 per month.

- In 2023, a total of around 80,600 wage and salary earners were employed within the state budget economy, slightly over one half of whom were women.
- The median earnings for regular working hours of central government professionals were EUR 4,795 and those of technicians and associate professionals EUR 3,450 per month.
- The most common level of education completed by those working in central government was master's degree and the median income for them was EUR 5,093.
- The earnings for regular working hours of the highest earning decile (9th decile) were at least EUR 6,232 and those of the lowest earning decile (1st decile) under EUR 2,940 per month.
- This is the last statistical release and publication of the statistics on central government monthly salaries. In future, central government salaries will be published as part of the statistics on the Incomes Register.
