Students in apprenticeship training number 63,300 in 2007

According to Statistics Finland, 63,300 students attended apprenticeship training leading to a qualification or degree during calendar year 2007.

The number of students was 16 per cent up on the previous year. Forty-three per cent of the students attended training for an initial vocational qualification, 33 per cent for a further vocational qualification and 24 per cent for a specialist vocational qualification. The proportion of men was 52 per cent.

New students numbered 28,400. Of the students, 11,000 completed an entire qualification. Of the completed qualifications, 32 per cent were initial vocational qualifications, 40 per cent further vocational qualifications and 28 per cent specialist vocational qualifications. Fifty-five per cent of the qualifiers were women.

These data have been collected from the organisers of apprenticeship training.
