The combined total productivity of local government in education, health care and social work fell by 0.8 per cent in 2007. According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland’s statistics on local government productivity, output grew by 0.9 per cent and total input by 1.7 per cent in local government. In health care, total productivity fell by 0.8 per cent as output grew by 0.5 per cent and total input by 1.3 per cent.
According to the preliminary data previously published in August, total productivity grew by 0.2 per cent in education but fell by 2.5 per cent in social work in 2007.

The statistics are based on available preliminary data and will become revised in January 2009. The statistics are compiled at the level of the whole country and the data are not available by municipality or joint municipal board.
