Building costs rose by 2.4 per cent in October

Building costs were 2.4 per cent higher in October 2011 than in October 2010. Labour costs in construction rose by 1.9 per cent and prices of materials by 2.1 per cent in the year. Those of other inputs rose by 5.7 per cent. This is indicated by the Building Cost Index of Statistics Finland.

From September to October the total index fell by 0.4 per cent. The prices for labour were unchanged and the prices of materials rose by 0.8 per cent. The prices of other inputs rose by 0.5 per cent.
