Building costs rose by 2.6 per cent in April

Building costs were 2.6 per cent higher in April 2012 than in April 2011. Labour costs in construction rose by 1.8 per cent, prices of materials by 2.1 per cent and prices of other inputs by 7.4 per cent per year. This is indicated by the Building Cost Index of Statistics Finland 2010=100.

Building cost index 2010=100

From March to April the total index fell by 0.1 per cent. The prices for labour fell by 0.5 per cent. The prices of materials rose by 0.1 per cent and the prices of other inputs fell by 0.1 per cent.
